Hardly news I know, its almost 12 hours old.  I just thought it was worth me writing about.

David Tennant announced that he was leaving Doctor Who at the end of next year once the specials have been released.  This means that by the end of the fourth special next year we should see a(nother) regeneration for Tennant’s doctor resulting in a new actor taking over the role.

The official story on the BBC is here:

There are rumours abound that it may be Russell Brand taking over – were this to be the case, I’d stop watching.  I can’t stand the man.  This latest act of stupidity involving him and Jonathan Ross just takes the biscuit.  Imagine someone phoning up your 78 year old granddad and leaving a message like that on his answerphone.  Idiot.

So anyway, back to Doctor Who.  Tennant has been partially responsible for the success with the news series.  Christopher Eccleston was good but Tennant just seems to have something about him that makes the role his.  At least we can enjoy the episodes he has done for years to come, its just a shame that there aren’t more of them.  Blink is one of my all time favorite episodes, very very clever.

Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff

Godspeed David, you were great.
