I’m Matt. I’m 39 years old. I’m married, with two kids. I’ve had a rollercoaster of a life, but I’m still here, and I’m still smiling (mostly).
I work in IT. Always have done, always will do. Constantly evolving what I do and my skill set to stay ahead of the robots (well, automation) that’s invariably going to put me out of a job. The stuff that I’m doing right now, didn’t even exist when I started my career.
My focus at the moment as a ‘Platform Engineer’ is in Amazon Web Services (AWS), I’m a certified AWS solutions architect.
Whatever role I end up in the future, I want to make sure that I stay hands on ‘doing’ rather than ‘designing’. I don’t mind designing things as long as I still get to build them and troubleshoot them. Everyone loves having a good problem to solve.
I occasionally take photographs, even less often than that, I post them up online in my portfolio.
