Marina Entrance

Now this picture WAS taken by the whalebones – I remember that yesterday\’s shot came from a little further down the path where I spotted a high bit of ground with some benches and I knew it would be a great place for a shot.

I do like this picture, and I tried to crop out the foliage at the bottom but it didn\’t look right leaving the building on there and if I cropped up to the top of the lower buildings I lost half of the pirate ship so I left it as is.

Bit of barrel distortion from the 10-20, I can\’t decide if I like it as it is or need to think about sorting it out at some point.

Shot was taken in Manual at f/8 with a shutter speed of 1/400.

Post processing involved a levels adjustment, slight curves adjustment, contrast boost and added a saturation adjustment layer which allowed me to bring out the red roofs again.

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: Canon EOS 30D
  • Taken: 18 April, 2007
  • Focal length: 10mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/400s

  1. Good wide view and you\'ve caught some movement in the harbour entrance. The red roof contrasts nicely with the immediate green foreground.
